Luis Cordero


Practice Area: Public Law and Government

Luis is the partner in charge of our Public Law and Government practice. He holds a PhD in Law from Lleida University, in Spain, and master’s degrees in public policy and law from Universidad de Chile.

His vast academic and work experience in public and environmental law has allowed Luis to advise countless firms and government entities in relevant matters. He had a particularly relevant role articulating the reform to Chilean environmental law, a task that has given him a unique perspective that has enriched his expertise and has led him to bring together the public and private sectors.

Luis is currently a professor in several universities, both at the graduate and postgraduate level, and has authored several papers and books in his areas of expertise. He is also a permanent columnist in La Segunda and El Mercurio Legal. His expertise allows him to work closely with the litigation, environmental law, energy, antitrust, and regulation practices.

He is also a member of the Chilean and Latin American Institute of Administrative Law, and a member of the editorial boards of the Administrative Law Review and the Journal of Environmental Law of the University of Chile. He is constantly publishing books, papers and media articles within his areas of expertise. Moreover, he is frequently cited by other authors and courts alike and is often giving seminars and lectures.
